Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about OMENTA, production types, specification-based products, the OPLAN link, delivery dates, work orders, master data traceability, licensing, set-up and language.

What is OMENTA?+
OMENTA is a web-based manufacturing ERP for manufacturers. It is set up on the plant's production model and keeps master data, product definitions (bill of materials or specification), production resources (work centres, operations, capabilities, calendar, SOPs), sales and purchase orders and work orders in one system of record. It publishes its data for planning to OPLAN, Grupas's planning application.
Which types of production does it suit?+
The production environment is chosen at set-up: discrete only, process only or mixed. Each item card carries its own production strategy (MTS make-to-stock, MTO make-to-order, ETO engineer-to-order). Operations have one of five process flow types — discrete, batch, continuous, line and project — and if a product's SOP mixes several, the product is made in mixed mode. 13 sector profiles (metal, plastics, food, textiles, chemicals, automotive, machinery, electronics, furniture, packaging, pharma, building materials, general) suggest defaults and product attribute templates.
How do I define products that have no bill of materials?+
The identity of products such as coils, profiles or bars is their own specification: alloy, temper, dimensions, tolerance. Attributes are defined once in the dictionary; a product template sets which attribute is asked in which order and from which pattern code and name are derived. On the variant screen you pick axis values, preview the combinations and create up to 500 cards in one run. A BOM line can link to material by a specification condition instead of a code (ALASIM=3003; KALINLIK>=0,5); the work order then finds the items that meet it.
How does OMENTA relate to OPLAN?+
OMENTA is the system of record (master data, orders, work orders), OPLAN the planning system. Data flows one way: OMENTA publishes 23 data sets through its token-protected data service and OPLAN pulls them at start-up. The one exception is the delivery date: OPLAN proposes a confirm date based on capacity; the proposal moves the line to "awaiting approval" and the order only becomes firm when sales approves it. OMENTA also works without OPLAN: confirm dates can be entered manually or by CSV.
How are delivery dates given to customers?+
An order line has two dates: the wish date sales received from the customer and the confirm date planning can give. The line first waits in Customer Requests; with a confirm date it moves to Awaiting Approval, on sales approval it drops into Orders To Plan and once a work order is opened it appears in Active Work Orders. The stage is derived from these fields; if the confirm date changes, the sales approval drops and is requested again.
How is a work order created?+
Every production work order is tied to an order line and is opened from the orders to plan. On opening, the product's active SOP and bill of materials are copied; even if master data changes later, the opened work order does not. Made sub-parts spawn their own child work orders; operations are split into serial and parallel levels and the machine suggestion comes from the capability matrix. Linked work orders such as assembly, material preparation, tooling, transport, subcontracting and purchasing are tied to a specific operation of the production work order.
How are master data changes traced?+
Every time an item card is saved its version goes up; the card detail shows status, version, validity dates, created and changed by, and a change history that lists every update with person and time. Codes are sequential and non-speaking, and duplicates are rejected. SOPs change through versions (SOP-0001-V1 → V2); who may edit what is set by the super admin, admin and user roles and the master data edit permission.
Which license models are available? What are the prices?+
Monthly subscription, annual subscription, purchase (perpetual license) and a project license for Grupas projects. Every feature comes with every license; the quote is based on your number of users and the implementation scope — contact us through the demo / quote form.
How is it set up?+
OMENTA runs in the browser; Grupas prepares a separate environment and database for each customer. At set-up you choose company, sector, production environment and product definition model; the Master Data Set-up Guide then takes you through six steps in the right order, from units to item cards. Sample company data can be installed from within the application for trying it out.
What language is the application in?+
The OMENTA interface is in Turkish and English, and each user chooses their language. This website is in four languages; let's discuss your need for another language in the demo call.
How can I get a demo?+
Fill in the demo / quote form; we will get back to you and schedule a live walkthrough on sample company data that shows BOM-based and specification-based products, orders and work orders together.
